Climate Action Programme: an introduction

In response to global reports on climate change, the goals set out in the 2015 Paris Agreement, proposed legislative action and increasing consumer interest around sustainability, the European Outdoor Group held three focused webinars around the upcoming Climate Action Programme (CAP) which we will being to roll out in the coming months.

The European Outdoor Group Climate Action Programme will guide participants through the “climate action journey” and enable them to actively reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions they produce, by developing and implementing a climate strategy that is in line with science-based recommendations and policy requirements. The comprehensive programme will address all areas of each outdoor business that participates and will be aligned with, and collaborate with, other complementary international industry initiatives.

The first webinar, 'An Introduction to the EOG Climate Action Programme’ focused on the Climate Action Programme we are planning to kick-off and facilitate starting in the second half of the year. It included an introduction to the programme, an outline of the content, ideas for collaborative projects, and an overview of the community we would like to build around this topic.

The second webinar 'Outdoor Industry Climate Strategy’ focused on the development of a climate strategy for outdoor brands and included a high-level overview of carbon accounting, greenhouse gas emission hotspots of our industry and the most important reduction and mitigation measures.
