Fair Wear is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving labour conditions in the garment industry. Fair Wear strives to ensure safe, dignified, and decently paid employment throughout the global garment supply chain.
Fair Wear has advocated for shared supply chain responsibility since its inception 25 years ago. As a true multistakeholder initiative, Fair Wear has built strong networks across the whole value chain – brands, manufacturers, workers, trade unions, NGOs and other industry influencers. With teams in 10 production countries, Fair Wear’s work is guided by the worker’s voice.
Fair Wear envisions and actively works towards a situation where garment workers are well informed, well represented and have the means to raise concerns when their rights are violated. We guide and assess brands and promote the full and mandatory implementation of the OECD guidelines for human rights due diligence across the industry.
Fair Wear collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders to achieve its mission. With over 130 member brands committed to improving labour conditions in their supply chains. Engaging directly with garment factories and their workers to ensure fair treatment and safe working conditions. Working with organizations like the Ethical Trading Initiative and the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles to amplify impact. And collaborating with policymakers and non-governmental organizations to advocate for fair labour practices and develop supportive legislation.
Collaboration and alignment are both key ingredients for enacting meaningful change. That is why Fair Wear has steadily been building a strong network of partners and collaborators. The partnership of Fair Wear and European Outdoor Group (EOG) goes long back and is shown in different ways.
